New Provider Information
Dear Rotherfield and Brook Patients,
General Practice, like most of the NHS, has been under a lot of pressure over the last few years. We at Brook and Rotherfield have decided to do something to address the situation and secure the future of the practice.
A new NHS organisation has been set up locally; it is called Sussex Primary Care. SPC was set up to provide support for general practices in the Sussex area and is part of a larger NHS organisation – Sussex Community Trust.
Being part of a large NHS organisation will ensure that both surgeries stay open for the long run.
SPC is an NHS provider providing NHS services funded by the NHS to NHS registered patients. SPC is not a profit-generating private company.
Our aim is to become part of Sussex Primary Care (SPC) in the spring/summer of 2021.
What that means is:
We feel very positive about this and hope this reassures you that the practice will continue to stay open, providing services as it does now and that you will not notice much difference.
However, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact:
or call: 01273 265800
and a member of the SPC team will be pleased to answer any questions you may have.
Please feel free to share this widely amongst other patients in the area.
Dr Davies, Dr Golton and Dr Hester.
We are pleased to confirm that a Covid vaccination programme should (subject to vaccine delivery) start in Crowborough this weekend 16th January.
Please do not contact the practice for an appointment
The Crowborough vaccinations will be at Saxonbury House practice in Croft Road as only one centre is currently possible in any locality.
There has been a considerable amount of work involved to set up this centre and all the GPs in the locality are working together to enable vaccination as quickly as stocks will allow.
NHSE have given practices a list of priorities for the Vaccination and full details are available at:
We will telephone patients with an allocated appointment time and to explain the process. As part of that conversation we will ask some questions and collect some additional information from you to complete the process.
We will not be able to book appointments if you telephone the practice as all our bookings are being arranged by a dedicated team of our staff.
On the day of your Vaccination please do not arrive at Saxonbury House Surgery more than 5 minutes before your appointment time as queuing will be outside because of social distancing. There is NO opportunity to vaccinate earlier than your appointment time because of the process we have to follow.
Parking will be at the Waitrose Car Park (Thank you to Waitrose for their help) so please allow time to walk from the Waitrose car park.
We can only schedule appointments when we have vaccine delivery dates and we will contact patients as soon as we can.
Thank you for your help
Please ensure that you put in your repeat perscriptions in early to avoid running out whent the practice is closed.
We still have stock of influenza vaccine if you havent already had your flu vaccine please call reception today and book your appointment. Those patients that are 50-64 with no underlying conditions can call the surgery to book an appointment. Don't delay, protect yourselves today.
Attending the Surgery
Due to the increase in positive COVID cases the surgery doors will now be locked, but we are open. A member of the reception team will speak with you through the window and ask you COVID related questions and take your temperature before allowing you into the building. We have not taken this decision lightly, we want to protect staff and patients. With the door locked please knock on the window to gain someones attention. We appreicate your co-operation during this difficult time. Remember if the door is locked during opening hour we are OPEN. We will now be asking patients to wear face masks/coverings when attending the surgery. We thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
There is a Minor Injury Unit (MIU) at both Crowborough & Uckfield Hospitals available daily from 8.00am to 8pm. This maybe a more appropriate service to use than A&E and it could have shorter waiting times.
SUPPORT YOUR SURGERY:
Membership of the League of Friends is just £5 a year and all the money raised helps provide equipment for both surgeries. The League of Friends have purchased thousands of pounds of equipment in recent years, helping patients avoid the need to travel to outpatients appointments.
IMPROVED ACCESS APPOINTMENTS:
Evening and weekend appointments are now avaiable to book in via our reception team. Appointment times will be between 6.30pm and 8.00pm Mon to Fri, Sat 8am to 12pm. Sunday and Bank Holiday appointments will be held from St Andrews Surgery, Southover Rd, Lewes, BN7 1US 9am to 1pm.
